A business investment in the Kentucky Lake region is sound. It has a central location with excellent proximity to markets, navigable waterways, two major interstates (I-69 and I-24) and a highly skilled workforce. All of these attributes combine to make it an optimal place for a variety of industries to succeed, such as chemical companies, automotive suppliers and other manufacturers, transportation, distribution and logistics.
The area has long supported a variety of heavy industry and would be a great fit for light industrial manufacturing as well. Marshall County just completed the Southwest One Industrial Park, a 300-acre manufacturing park along U.S. 641. The park includes a 400,000 square-foot facility with direct rail access.
