2019 Entrepreneurship Challenge kickoff launched at Marshall County High School
BENTON, KY (August 17, 2018) — Today at Marshall County High School, Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton announced the kickoff of the 2019 Lt. Governor’s Entrepreneurship Challenge (LGEC). She first presented the Champion trophy to Principal Patricia Greer and 2018 First Place team Bluegrass VR, comprised of students Claire Harmon and Daniel Sills, advised by Lisa Devillez. Their idea for digitizing historical markers earned the team $50,000 in scholarships.
“I’m so pleased this wonderfully innovative team brought the Champion trophy to Marshall County High School. I’m honored to officially start the 2019 competition here,” said Lieutenant Governor Hampton. “This year’s trophy includes a dedication in memory of classmates Preston Cope and Bailey Holt.” Preston and Bailey were lost in the January school shooting.
